  • Who should be the starting QB for the Saints: Jameis Winston or Taysom Hill?

    • I’m a huge saints fan and I want Winston he threw for 5100 yards out of shape and blind and 33 touchdowns yes he had 33 INTs but all of that wasn’t on him in fact a lot of it wasn’t but now he’s with a system and staff that will allow him to shine he is a top 5 talent minus the mistakes

  • The fact is that yes Jameis clearly has more raw talent at the QB position than Taysom. That doesn't mean he is the right choice for the Saints as their QB. They have gone for years and years with Brees playing small ball and have won consistently with that. Jameis has the huge arm and will push the stat sheet way up but will he protect the ball. His play style has produced fantastic yard totals and all but it has not translated to wins as he is 28-42 in his career to date. On the other hand, playing Taysom will run the clock down and keep the score lower and allow their good defense to be a factor. I get the distinct impression that it really makes very little difference who ends up being QB as it will depend on the rest of the team to pull out wins... whether its getting a good defensive stop/special teams play because of lack of scoring in Taysom Hill's case or making the same plays because of turnovers in Jameis's case, the team record will likely end up being the same at probably around 9/7.

  • Running backs need shorter rookie contracts so they get paid sooner. RBS are one position that doesn't last long. And their body usually breaks down by the end of their rookie contracts. Then they get paid and don't produce and will get the narrative that you shouldn't pay running backs

  • Kamara makes some interesting points but the fact remains that the average length of a RB career is 2 years, 5 months. That reason alone is enough to keep me from resigning a RB if (and that's a HUGE if) he's done with his 1st contract. A RB like Emmitt is a once in a lifetime RB. He had it all EXCEPT top end speed but with his amazing vision, balance, patience & strength, he was a man among boys for the first few years. He has a mean streak and was a violent runner, using his stiff-arm like a weapon in his arsenal. As a matter of fact, he's the only RB I can remember being flagged for a face mask penalty BECAUSE of a stiff-arm. He DIDN'T grab the mask but shot his arm out with such strength and precision that the Defender looked like someone had punched him on the button and he slammed into the turf while Emmitt ran on to the Hall of Fame. But just the sheer number of years for #22 is amazing.......And if Adrian Peterson couldn't break his record after all the football HE'S played then we may never see Smith's like again.

I just think the position has changed more than any other in importance, but there's also a correlation between the rise of the 400 yard passing game. You didn't see that when I was younger.
